Launching This Blogger's Journey

Why did I decide to start blogging? Before I get to that, I want to start by sharing a little about myself. I'm a family man first: a dad and a husband. I have always had a lot of hobbies because I get destructive when I'm bored, and that's not productive or good for anybody. Until last year, almost all of those hobbies have all been consumer-based and unproductive. Things like video games, board games, cards, grilling, drinking, and online hangouts with long distance friends. Don't get me wrong. I still enjoy most of them, but as my perspective on life has changed, so has my "hobby focus".

Last year I started making several changes in my life to better myself mentally, physically, and financially. I'll dive more into this later, but I made two big changes mentally. First, I turned thinking "I have to..." into "I get to...". Second, before starting something or acquiring something, I now ask myself the same question: "does this add value to my life?". Physically, I began working out regularly and gained the discipline to hold myself accountable. I returned to martial arts (kickboxing, muay thai, and mma), which I love, but haven't been doing regularly the past two years. Financially, I started taking investing seriously and really putting in the research required to succeed in that aspect. I now have goals for all of these aspects of my life.

After 10 WEEKS of seriously dedicating and investing my time into improving these aspects of my life, I can already tell a big difference. I feel mentally stronger, physically fitter, and my overall attitude is more positive. As a bonus, I also already feel more secure in my financial future. Because all of these changes have been such a positive influence for me, I decided to start a brand around it. Well, technically I'm re-imaging my existing brand that I haven't used in a couple years, so if you join me early enough you will probably see the remnants of that stuff (don't judge me, I'm still learning).

What am I sharing? First and foremost, fitness stuff. I'm still working on losing weight (by weight lifting and eating right) to get down to my target weight, at which point I will shift my focus there to sculpting my muscles for the look and strength that I want. I am also returning to regularly doing kickboxing, muay thai, and mma, which I plan on competing in next year. Alongside the fitness side of things, I'll also be sharing what I learn financially and my financial goals. Lastly, I like to unwind with board games and video games, so I may stream those on the weekends.

If you have similar interests or goals, I hope you'll stick with me on my journey. I have always been a community-focused person, so I look forward to sharing with you and interacting with you. If 2021 is anything like the past couple years, it will be an exciting ride! See you on the next post.
